There were spontaneous roving eye movements, intact pupillary and corneal reflexes, full oculocephalic responses (doll's eyes), brisk tendon reflexes, and bilateral extensor plantar responses. By 24 hours the patient opened her eyes and purposively withdrew arms and legs. B 1y week she appeared fully conscious.
