Witryna2. level 1. ForeignCake. · 1y. Getting in at an international school in Japan or Taiwan is going to be very difficult for a newly licensed teacher. Not to discourage you, but just be aware that you made need to go to a less "desirable" country first, get some experience, and then transfer to Japan or Taiwan. WitrynaMany people choose online courses if they 1) plan to do TEFL for a short time as a sort of break from their normal life/job, 2) live somewhere where it's not possible to take an in-person course, and/or 3) don't have the financial means to take an in-person course, since they're usually quite a lot more expensive. WitrynaI can understand why most people here would be negative about paying a company to set you up to TEFL but if you think about it, its not that big of a ripoff. WitrynaTEFLcareer • 10 yr. ago As others have written, CELTA is certainly not the highest qualification. I think what you meant to say is that it's the best introductory qualification, which is probably true, although Trinity is excellent too. WitrynaLove it. ForeignCake • 2 yr. ago Meh. Their 4 week intensive is $1,800 and the 11 week part time is $1,200. WitrynaBe careful when switching from tefl to an international school. It’s not always better. I left a pretty good situation at a cram school in Taiwan to work at an international school. I think i left because of the reputation of being a 30+ tefler. I also thought teaching at an international school is more of a “real job”.
