Wenn mir das in unserer Branche jemand schreibt, dann denke ich "der ist wohl an die 60 Jahre alt und geht bald in Rente". Daher würde ich dies in einem normalen Brief in unserer Branche nie wählen. WebMit "Dr." kann man jedenfalls niemand beleidigen, anders vielleicht als mit Dr. des., wenn er es etwa nicht mehr sein sollte (ist ja, soweit ersichtlich, ein ziemlich vorübergehender Titel.) Obwohl man uns Österreichern ja eine gewisse Titelfixiertheit nachsagt, war mir dieser übrigens bis dato unbekannt.
